Go Zigzag To Get The Best aka Stay Patient at all Costs

So what do you do when you are called into a meeting for the Nth time and the agenda is observation of office timings? You are rarely disobeying the law but are called in just to “discuss” why others are doing it because you are a manager. The meeting that is never ever fruitful. A gathering where we always state our problems but neither get any commitments from the management nor solutions.

Are you allowed to scream like hell and run out of there? Can you show discontent and force others to kick you out? Can you roar and scare everybody away? What can you do actually? In which wall can you go and bang your head.

I am tired of the meaningless solution-less talk by people around me. I am tired of not doing or not being able to do productive stuff to solve problems. Maybe I am just sick and tired of my current job. Maybe it has finally gotten to me. Should I quit or hang in there till I get my bonus?

Damn humans! Always thinking of money and benefits. Slaves of their rational thought. But I guess the humans also have a taste of doing the “heart’s desire” and getting hurt. So come to think of it, there is no choice. This way is a high climb up, that way a long fall down. Situations are never perfect. We have to zigzag our way through to get the best deal available.

hahaha ... Meeting to observe office timings!!! Are you a kindergarten teacher .... ??

Hilarious stuff :D

Well easy solution can be to tell them all to take off their diapers and GROW THE HELL UP.

Not only kindergarten teachers, but managers also have to manage time issues. They have to manage office discipline as well as observation of timing by their teams. Yes that is a pity that no solutions have been found to the problem at my office but that does not lessen the severity of the problem. And i being one of the managers have to contribute toward eradicating the problem.

Maybe when some day you work as a manager, you would know that part of the story too.

We just call it 'Professionalism' and work extra hours even if we are late after informing manager.

Make sure your office also buy some teleconferencing equipment. It helps in attending meetings and seminars.

Btw mid year and end year reviews should be enough to teach every one a good lesson. Isn't it ;)

Aoa Monazza,

I hope you are doing great.

Well in my office, we have to work 7.5 hours a day and it is must to be in office from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00.

All the meetings are arranged in accordance which means that we can start our work from 8:00/9:00 or 10:00 in the morning and will have to leave office accordingly.

In spite of all above mostly people start at 9:00 and leave at 17:00.

So even you can use such kind of timings in your office as IT companies should be bit flexible in timings due to late sittings required by projects.

Wish you good luck to find a solution.

Best,
K.

All are great ideas, if only my boss would pay heed and approve. We are hoping and waiting for the good times. Either good times will come or we will switch jobs and move to greener pastures. ;-)
