Bundle of Joy

Today while i was away from my desk for a short while, somebody left a small package there. I discovered it when i came back. Don't get all excited as it was not a gift from a secret admirer. :-P It was a little bundle of visiting cards, my very own. I got about a 1000 before, but that batch was rotten as it had my name written all wrong. Today's little bundle was actualy little. I guess it must have contained a couple of hundered cards. But on these my name was written correctly. This made me happy.

But that was the only thing that made me happy. Becasue as soon as i glanced at the cards, i felt bad. The quality of paper was not good. The cutting was not neat. The edges were not sharp. The printing was slightly smudgy. The use of space and white space was pathetic. But i just felt joy inside that i finally got a mistake free handful of my very own visiting cards.

This happiness was short lived. As soon as i reached home i handed out a card to my mother, my sister and my father. And just as i handed over one to my father and explained to him why i was so critical of the card that i noticed a mistake. It had a whole one character space between the dot (.) and the com of the web site URL.

Arghhhhh! I will have to return this bundle again and wait another 6 months for the next delivery. Tough luck i guess!

Busy Bee Indeed

Today was indeed a very busy day for me. The whole day passed litterally like an instant, like a flash, right in front of my eyes. I was so busy i didn't have time to scratch my head. But i did manage to have my lunch break. Meaning thereby that i am not only a busy bee on PuzzleBee but in real life as well. This whole week is going to be tough. I have several tasks at hand and need to finish them all within this week. I wonder why does it always happen that whenever i get good work, i get loads of it. No matter how busy i am, i am sort of enjoying it. I always love when i have significant things at hand to do. Staying free bores me to death and rusts my joints. I survived the 1st day of this week, and survived well. 4 more days to go (could be 5).

Post From E-Mail - Third Attempt

This is my third attempt at trying to blog from e-mail. Every time i mess up one thing or the other. Well not many things, just one. I always put in a wrong e-mail address. But this time, instead of relying on my memory, i logged on to Blogger and confirmed the "Mail-to-Blogger Address" from there. This time if any other thing is bound to get wrong then it will. But at least i know that i am sending this out to the correct e-mail address. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to come across success this time. ;-)

Now a Busy Bee in the PuzzleBee Hive

I worked really hard this weekend. I had a big task to achieve. The hard work paid off and i succeeded in my mission. The task was to upgrade my status on PuzzleBee from Devil Bee to a higher level. I needed about 2000 points for this. I have lost count of the puzzles that i have made in these past few days. But i managed to complete just the right number. Now i am proudly looking at my gleaming 'Busy Bee' status and rejoicing.

Now that i am done with this, i am moving on towards the next target. I don't know what surprise i will get when i reach that level. All i know is that now i need to achieve 3229 points before i can climb to the next rung of the ladder. All the best to me! :-D

Red Tomatoe Face

I don't know what's going on but my face looks like a red tomato. Maybe the heat of the fever has taken to my face. But whatever it is, it is really funny. Can't stop laughing whenever i see myself in the mirror. It's not that i have never laughed at myself before but i am finding this 'red tomato face' of mine completely hilarious.

My Pulse Beats

This fever has provided me with an opportunity i had been seeking for a long time. I always wanted to feel a racing pulse on myself. But every time i checkedin the past, the speed would be slow and the count would be less than 80. But today i manually recorded up to 100 beats of the pulse on my hand. Yuppiee!!! Now that was fun. :-D

I am sad the count has dropped to a 90 right now. But i guess that's good. Nurturing a fever is not a good idea. I have taken medicine as well so i guess i will be all well by morning Insha ALlah. :-D

Working Saturday, Working Sick

On top of all this sickness and fever and all I, the poor soul, had to go to office as well to finish up some work. I was unable to concentrate on it for the past two days. So working on Saturday was a last resort. For not finishing the work i had got a "You should keep your commitments." from my boss. This made me feel a bit bad but i put in all my efforts (of what remained after battling with my fever hehehe) and finished it. Well 90% i did. :-D I would have done it all had i been perfectly fine and the technology at office would have worked perfectly for me. Both were not perfroming at their 100% so my work suffered again. On Monday somebody in my office going to get scolded by me for sure. May God help him! >:-)

Just a Little Unwell

"I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell". [Matchbox 20]
"Down With the Sickness". [Disturbed]
"Fever". [Madonna]

These above songs are portraying what i am going through right now. It came like a blow to me. One night i slept fine and next day woke up sick. The whole day has passed and i am still feverish. My mom is worried. But i am chillling ;-)

Scary Interviewer

Looking at the blog title you might wonder who is that. Or maybe you might say that every interviewer is like that. But right now i am only refering to myself and nobody else. I think i did manage to "scare" a guy who had come for an interview. Well i didn't "boo" at him or sneak up on him from behind. I simply pointed out in the very beginning of the interview to him that his resume' was not tailored for the job he had applied for, which was QA Engineer. He was apologetic about it and said he would fix it. But i felt that that comment of mine sort of scared him and the scare remained till the end of the interview, and even after that. Oh well, i hope he forgives me as i would really wish for him to say goodby to his project at his company and come join my team. :-)

Busy Day or What!

I was in the interview panel for two QA interviews. I was sort of an observer in the third. Took part in two really long meetings that lasted more than an hour each. Faced 3 hours of load shedding. Tried concentrating on a small task but failed to complete it. Sent my team's task report to my Operations Manager. And that's pretty much what i did in the office. Looks very little when i see it this way but it felt like a lot.

Doing all this also took more than the usual time and i got off from the office around 9:00 pm. Reached home at 10. Had dinner and faced 1 more hour of loadshedding. The mosquitoes have feasted on me again. I am beat up real bad. Better go and take my beauty sleep. But i am dreading the next loadshedding span when the mosquitoes would be all set to devour me, yet again. Oh God please help! :-D

Feast of the Flying Buzzing Parasites

As I slowly simmered in the heat, the mosquitoes made me more scrumptious for themselves by injecting all sorts of venom in me. Not a portion not a segment did they miss. Massive colonies of mosquitoes helped themselves to the sweet nectar that runs through my veins (and off course arteries too). The feast lasted almost the entire night. I don’t know how fat and chubby the feasting mosquitoes grew, but I woke up weak. *cough cough* The strength was slowly regained as the day passed. But the “cooking” and “eating” marks remained intact. I can still see the marks gracing my body, induced upon me by the tiny ravaging beasts. I just dearly wish they don’t repeat the vicious cycle tonight again.

Snail Paced Internet Speed in Office

The net in my office is performing miserably these days. The speeds seem slower than that of a snail. In fact the speed is so slow that i was unable to post replies to comments on my blog in one go. I had to visit the page a number of times and still there was no success. I finally got through to the comments page from home. This happened yesterday and so did today. I wonder what would the situation be like tomorrow.

In all these battles with the speed, i completely forgot to "twitter". :'(

Changing Time on the Clocks

As soon as it struck 12 am at night (or didn't), i set out to set the correct time on the clocks of my house. I did the wall clock in the lounge first. Then i did Abbu's mobile and then Ammi's. After that i corrected the time on my mobiles and the wall clock in my room. I knew i was missing some of the time telling gadgets. Just realised a moment ago that i needed to correct my computer clock too, so i did. Which reminds me that my wrist watch is still telling the 'old' time. Wait for me dear faithful watch, here i come to set things straight. :-D hehe

Daylight Saving in Pakistan

Today we, the Pakistani people, also stepped into the realm of daylight saving time. When the clock struck 12 am at night, the time was forwarded to 1:00 am. As the news channels were blaring yesterday, "Tonight the clocks in Pakistan will not strike 12." :-D hehe

So here we are at the advent of the daylight saving ritual once again. This was not the first time. It was tried to be implemented once, several years later as well. It did not work at that time. I wonder what will the results be this time. All we can do is wait and see.
