Gilgit Trip: Climax

Well I did get my seats reconfirmed for Thursday, but that was all I could take. I didn't repeat the routine another day. I was heart broken at these setbacks. I was also running out of holidays. So I decided that Wednesday would be the last day of the struggle to get to Gilgit. I consoled my friend there that Insha Allah we would meet there some day soon.

I went home that day from the airport, dropped off my suitcase, removed some extra stuff from my purse and went to office. This is how my 4 day long endeavour to try to go to Gilgit ended. I am sad but I know this was not my last chance. Some day, I will try again. :-)

Wow, really a serious endeavor by you. But I could only see persistence and no planning.

I wonder why couldn't you check the weather of the place before hand, and could plan your trip according to that. Means I usually plan my vacations according to the weather/conditions of the destination and not try to squeeze in a trip when ever i have my days off.

Plus how come you can't reconfirm you ticket over a phone, instead of going all the way to do it.

Another thing amazed me that if you knew it from your very first experience that its not gona work out and you might have to go in some other time of the year, than why you kept on repeat it again and again, with no out come ??

and yea, where are the pics ???

Assalam-o-alaikum Monazza,

Sad to know that you couldn't visit Gilgit.

I was really excited to read the blogs about your trip to Gilgit, and your experience of staying there.

I hope soon we will be able to read about your visit to gilgit Insha Allah.

Good luck.

I have never been to gilgit but after reading your blog i thought would visit there inshallah whenever i will come to Pakistan.

Best for now.

Thanks for going through all the posts about the trip. I hope you at least appreciated my persistence, as this is a quality lacked by many these days. ;-)

Well to be very honest I have never been a ‘planner’ in my life. In fact I don’t actually believe in planning. I have always seen examples of ‘man proposes God disposes’. So I prefer not to plan too much or not to plan at all and like to rely on the surprises Allah has in store for me. ;-)

The weather was fine till about a week before my scheduled flights. But then all of a sudden the month of ‘Sawan’ seemed to start. And then as you can see, it had effects.

There was a ‘bit’ of planning involved in all this. I wanted to go “after” my ISO Surveillance audit was done and “before” my friend started off her work there. These were the only days available. And I wouldn’t say it was a total loss as I saved 3 out of 5 days of my holiday, only to used some other time. And I got to write loads on my blog.

One last thing. I did not know at the beginning of all this that it would end this way.

Yes you will see the handful of pictures that I took very soon.

Walaikum Assalam Kashif,

Yes I was sad too when I couldn’t make it to Gilgit. But then I am hopeful that I would be able to do it some other time Insha Allah. Yes you should visit the place.

For me there were two attractions there. One, it was a new place that I had never seen before. Second, two of my friends live there and it was a chance to meet them.

Hope you can visit Gilgit some day. :-)
