1st Day of Ramazan 2006

Today we celebrated the 1st of Ramazan, here in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Pakistan. [I had to mention the city as in some parts of Pakistan, it was 2nd Ramazan today.]

It was a tough long day for me. I had not slept on time at night. Had gotten up early in the morning for sehri. And then had had to go to office verrrrrrrrry early in the morning (at 6:30 am). The whole day, I was sleepy. I felt as if I was drunk or drugged. ;-) hehe Even talking to people seemed like a difficult task. But I somehow managed to stay awake during office hours and even during the journey home.

But as soon as I entered the house and finished changing clothes, I couldn't resist the temptation to lie down. And as soon as I did that and closed my eyes, I was pulled into the world of deep slumber. Then for the next couple of hours I didn't know anything. Woke up just in time for aftari.

The nap was quite refreshing I must say. So refreshing that it’s again late at night and I am wide awake. This can be injurious to my health, staying awake that late ;-) But I guess a habit does not break that easily.

36 Red Roses

Just a few days ago (on 13 September), i celebrated my 27th birthday. It was fun. I got gifts, and all of them were really lovely. But one of the things i loved the most was a bouquet of 36 red roses. I had always wanted to get flowers on my birthday or any other day, as i love them. But so far it had happened only once.

This was a second time i got a big bunch of flowers and it was special. Thanks dude, for sending those my way. ;-)

The flowers have now withered but their sight and the joy i felt on seeing them is still very fresh in my mind. Hope to get some more flowers in the future. ;-)

A Visit to a Dentist

These days it so happens that i get very little spare time. And if i manage to steal a few moments of that time and log on to blogger, i keep saying that this is my come back, i will blog more often now and blah blah. This time i thought better get to the real thing, i.e. blogging, without uttering an extra word. ;-)

Today i paid a visit to the dentist. My second visit in a week. Last time i went on last Saturday. I was given anti-biotics and a few more tablets to help heal the lil wound in my mouth. Now that the dose of the medicine was over, i went to consult the doctor again. the wound had healed but there was still a little problem. The dentist had to cut off a tiny piece of my cheek that was covering a part of my last molar. I bravely survived on the chair, under the bright light and funny looking gadgets. The only thing painful was the sharp pain caused by the anesthetic shots in my gum.

My Mum survived as well. She was with me in the dentist's surgery. As soon as she heard him say 'cut off' she gave out a tiny squeal. ;-) hehe She has a delicate heart. She can't stand sight of blood or even the tiniest of surgical procedures. [Just kidding Mum! I know you are very brave :-)]

The best thing about this all was that ice cream was prescribed by the doctor. >:-) I took advantage of this and ate a lot of ice cream throughout the day. The cold milk at lunch time was also very refreshing.

Now, at the end of the day, everything seems to be healed. But i am still a bit cautious. I guess my gum would be perfect in a couple of days.
